DIVINE MYSTERIES AND SECRETS

God knows all things. Things the human mind has no idea about are known to God. It is absolutely impossible to keep a secret from God as everything about us is naked and open before God (Hebrews 4:13). Not only does God know all the nitty-gritty aspects of our lives that our pastor, spouse, family and close friends know nothing about, God also knows things about us that we don’t even know. He can tell us things about our lineage and ancestors that dates back hundreds of years. He can tell us the root cause of every problem in our life because He is the Beginning and the End. He knows when and how every problem began.

The wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God is way past that of astrologers, scientists, experts and specialists in any field. The reason for this is that none of them where there when God laid the foundations of the earth. God alone knows the precise depth and breadth of the earth, the limits He has fixed for the sea, the number of clouds in the sky. God knows the intricate parts of every plant, animal and human being. God knows the place where the gates of hell and death have been erected, where and when the shadow of death passes (Job 38 and 39).

God knows the meaning of every dream. He knows what every symbol, colour and image in a dream represents. God knows what each day will bring before it unfolds. He knows everything there is to know about earthly kingdoms and God’s own eternal Kingdom.

When God makes known to us information about people, places and events that are sketchy, facts about our lives that are hidden, something that will happen in the future which the human mind can’t foresee, or things in His Word our mind can’t comprehend, a divine secret or mystery of the Kingdom has been revealed to us.

Lack of knowledge, lack of understanding of God’s Word, plans and ways can be disastrous (Hosea 4:6). God doesn’t want us to go through life making decisions based on just what we see with our physical eyes because there’s more to life than meets the eye. God doesn’t want us to be a people who are unaware of the schemes and tactics of the devil or who just read the Bible as an ordinary story book. God delights in revealing hidden and secret things to His children. He wants us to know His plans and purposes (Amos 3:7). He is ready to open our eyes to wonderful truths in His Word (Psalm 119:18). Things no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no man has thought of or imagined, God wants to reveal to us through the power of His Spirit that dwells in us (1 Corinthians 2:9-11).

Daniel was a man God revealed divine secrets to. God made known to Daniel King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and the meaning of the dream (Daniel 2). When King Belshazzar saw a strange and mysterious handwriting on the wall, God revealed to Daniel the interpretation of the handwriting of the wall (Daniel 5). Something none of the astrologers, fortunetellers and magicians of Babylon could do. Why was Daniel privy to divine secrets? Daniel was determined that he wouldn’t defile himself with anything and anyone (Daniel 1:8). He was a man devoted to prayer (Daniel 6:10). He was ready to risk his life, forsake earthly comforts and pleasures to obey God and stand for God (Daniel 6).

God doesn’t gain anything from us going through life clueless to things happening in our lives, family, church and nation. It gives God no pleasure seeing us totally unaware and baffled about events happening in our world today. Every secret; every information we need to move forward in life, God wants to make known to us (Matthew 13:11, Colossians 1:26). The problem is that we are not ready and patient enough to spend time with God, to wait on God to tell us deep and unsearchable things we do not know about (Jeremiah 33:3). We haven’t taken time to separate ourselves from thinking and behaving like the world does (Romans 12:1-2). We want to be outside God’s presence, yet enjoy all the benefits that are in His presence. Friendship and intimacy with God opens us to divine secrets and the mysteries of the Kingdom of God (Psalm 25:14).

I pray God moves us from being mere acquaintances or causal friends with Him, to deep intimacy with God, so we become a people who know God as the God who reveals mysteries, the God who does nothing without first telling His servants the whole and true story.
