I AM NOT GIVING UP

I’m not giving up, even though I feel sort of down today,

My life seems to be going up and down,

Some people look down on me,

But in spite of all that I’m not giving up

For when I’m down, the One who has helped me down the years,

Will knock down everything and everyone fighting my joy.

I’m not giving up, even though there are mountains to climb,

I have a mountain of work to do,

People have made a mountain out of a molehill of my mistakes,

But in spite of all of that I’m not giving up

For the Leveler of Mountains will bring down every mountain before me

And surround me with His presence just as the mountains surround Jerusalem.

I’m not giving up, even though this problem has lasted forever,

The insults from those I trusted was the last straw,

People think I’m on my last legs and won’t make it,

But in spite of all of that I’m not giving up

For no one but God can have the last word in my life,

And He who always has the last laugh will arise for me even at the last minute.
