Pray For Your Head

Prayers for your head are important prayers you must regularly and fervently take time to pray.

There are three main senses the word HEAD can be used. The first and most common sense the word HEAD is used is in describing a part of the human body. The head is the uppermost and chief member of the human body. It is practically impossible for a person to live without having a head on his or her shoulders. I’m sure you have seen or come across people who have lost their eyes, hands or legs but are still living. But if a person should lose one’s head, if a person’s head is cut off that means the end of the person’s life. The day a request was made for the head of John the Baptist that was the day his life and ministry came to an end (Matthew 14:6-12). This is why your head which is a vital part of your body and your existence must be covered in prayers.

In the Bible we see father’s releasing blessings on the heads of their children (Genesis 49:26). It is therefore important for you to pray that your head is carrying blessings not an evil curse or evil load.

The word HEAD is also illustrative of a leader or a person that holds a position of authority. A principal is the head of a school, the president the head of a country, a captain the head of a ship or plane, a director the head of a company, the husband the head of the family, and a pastor the spiritual head of the church.

When the devil wants to hit a family, church, country, group or organization, he usually goes for the head; the main person leading or in charge. Leaders are prime targets for the devil. No wonder Matthew 26:31 says “strike the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will be scattered”.  This is why we must earnestly pray for those in positions of authority at all levels.

The third sense the word HEAD can be used is to describe someone who is the top or best in a class, skill, field or business. God has destined us to be the head; the very best in everything we do. We need to pray ourselves into that position of greatness God has prepared for us.

I encourage you to say these prayers:

O Lord, My Father, I thank you for life. It is because you have not allowed any sickness, tragedy or power of darkness to cut off my head that is why I’m alive today. O Lord, My God, please continue to preserve my life; please shield and cover my head all through this year (Psalm 18:2, Psalm 84:11, 2 Thessalonians 3:3).

Lay your hands on your head and make this confession: You my head, you shall bow down in reverence to the only true and Living God, Jehovah the Almighty, the King of kings and Lord of lords. You shall not bow down in worship to any strange god or idol (Psalm 95:6, Matthew 4:8-10).

Lord Jesus, you are my head; you are the Chief Commander, Captain, Director and Shepherd of my life. Because you are my head, I give you full control of my life and ask you to perfect all that concerns me. Whatever will make me lose my connection with you, please remove permanently from my life today. I declare that because you are the one heading and stirring the boat of my life, I shall not be shipwrecked; I shall not drown in the river of trials and afflictions (Psalm 138:8, Mark 4:38, -39, Isaiah 43:2).

My glory and the lifter up of my head, keep shame far away from me. Throughout this year, let my head be raised up not bowed down in shame and disgrace. Father, let those who are plotting my downfall; those who want to see me put to shame, be seriously disappointed as you arise in your mercy and lift my head up in victory, honour and triumph (Psalm 3:3, Psalm 27:6).

Great Physician, from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet, make me whole. Let your healing power flow from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet and take away every infirmity and sickness from my body. O Lord, perform a spiritual surgery on me and let me come out of your divine operating table strengthened and made perfectly sound, whole and healthy (Isaiah 1:6, 3 John 2, Colossians 2:10).

Mighty Man in battle, be a shield for my head. Shield my head from owners and depositors of evil load. Shield my head O Lord and make it impossible for them to place a load of sickness, failure, poverty, barrenness and stagnation on my head. I command whatever evil is flying in the air, to pass over my head and the heads of all my loved ones and those dear to me (Exodus 12:12-13, Psalm 140:7-8).

I decree and declare that whatever I lay my hands to do shall succeed and prosper. I shall be the head and not the tail; I shall be on top and not below. I shall not fail in Jesus name. My name, the name of my spouse, children, business and ministry shall not be seen on the failure list the enemy has prepared (Deuteronomy 28:13, Colossians 2:14)

In the name of Jesus and by the sword of the spirit, I cut off the head of every “goliath” that has been mocking me and troubling my peace, joy and progress (1 Samuel 17:4-11, 45-51).

O Lord, wear a crown of blessings on my head that will attract favour and good things to my life. Father, please put your blessing of protection, peace, prosperity, good health and long life on my head. O Lord, my Father, lay your hand on me and release a special blessing on my life that will change my story (Proverbs 10:6, Luke 11:13)

O Lord, Our Divine Helper, please help all those in positions of authority. Help our husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church. Keep strange women far away from them. Help our President to yield to divine instruction. Separate him from wicked counselors. Help all church leaders and ministers of the gospel to walk in the fear of the Lord, not to deviate from their divine assignment, to prosper in their ministries and to be true ambassadors for Christ in all they say and do (Ephesians 5:25, Exodus 18:21, Proverbs 16:12, 2 Timothy 4:5, 2 Corinthians 5:20).

Lay your hands on your head and declare: You my head, no false prophet, no person carrying strange and unauthorized fire, no evil hand will touch you. You my head, only the fresh and yoke destroying anointing of the Holy Spirit will rest on you (Psalm 92:10, Psalm 23:5, Leviticus 10:1).

I place the mark of Christ, the seal of the blood of Jesus on my forehead and declare and decree that from today, let no man, demon, force or power of darkness trouble me for I bear the mark of Christ (Galatians 6:17, Isaiah 44:5).
