10 Amazing Benefits of Prayer
If there’s anything we must not go without, it is prayer. No matter how busy you are, don’t go a day without calling out to God in prayer. It’s dangerous to be a prayer-less Christian. Don’t take prayer for granted; there’s too much you miss out on when you refuse to pray. Prayer has tremendous blessings. There is dynamic power in prayer. Here are 10 simple but very important reasons why we must pray without ceasing:
1.Prayer draws us nearer to God. Prayer is a relationship builder and enhancer. Our relationship with God is strengthened and deepened as we devote ourselves to prayer (James 4:8, Hebrews 10:22).
2.Prayer is proof that God is real and living. You won’t know how near, real and powerful God is until you start to truly pray. When we pray, God shows us that He’s much closer to us than we think. God manifests Himself as a Living God who is very much aware and involved in everything that concerns us (Psalm 145:18, James 5:16).
3.Prayer brings us out of trouble. When we pray, God’s right hand of power is stretched out to us to rescue and deliver us from the troubles, problems and challenges of life (Psalm 40:1-2, James 5:13). Prayer can make a huge difference to the social, political and economic situation of an entire nation; prayer can put an end to national problems (Esther 4:15-17, Esther 5-9).
4.Prayer is the conduit pipe through which we receive good gifts from God. Blessings and testimonies from God flow as we pray (Matthew 7:11).
5.Prayer strengthens us to overcome temptations and traps the devil sets for us (Matthew 26:41).
6.Prayer is an antidote for worry. The cure for worry is prayer! (Philippians 4:6-7).
7.Prayer brings healing and restoration (James 5:16).
8.Divine revelation and guidance come to us as we pray. Prayer reveals divine secrets to us. Things hidden to the ordinary eye are revealed in the place of prayer, divine instructions that can keep us from error, give us victory, and move our lives forward are given as we call on the Lord and seek His face (Jeremiah 33:3, Psalm 32:6-8).
9.Prayer covers us with God’s banner, shadow and hand of protection (Psalm 91:1-4).
10.As we pray, we are ushered into the throne room of God where mercy is shown, sins are forgiven, grace for every need and situation is released, and timely help from above is given (Hebrews 4:16, 1 John 1:9).
Jesus was a man of prayer (Hebrews 5:7, Luke 3:21, Matthew 14:23, Mark 1:35, Matthew 26:36). When we devote and dedicate quality time to prayer, we are living as Christ lived.
