Prayer for The Nation
Father, we give thanks to You for You are good and Your mercy endures forever. It is because of Your mercy that we haven’t been completely wiped out as nation by natural disasters, wars, political unrest, famines, viruses, terrorist and bandits. Thank You Lord for preserving our nation. Your name be praised, worshipped and adored! (Psalm 107:1-2).
Father, please look on us with Your eyes of mercy and forgive us as a nation for all the innocent blood that have been shed on this land by assassins, terrorists, bandits, ritual killers, kidnappers, armed robbers and politicians. We plead the blood of Jesus on every state, community and local government. Lord for every innocent blood crying out to you from the ground for judgment, punishment and hardship on our nation, please let the blood of Jesus speak mercy concerning all the wickedness and atrocities committed in our land (Genesis 4:10, Hebrews 12:24).
Father, Your word says righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to any people. Lord, please look upon us with mercy and roll away every reproach our sinful lifestyle, illegal, corrupt and wicked ways have brought to our nation. Make us a nation that is founded and established on righteousness. Let every faulty foundation; every foundation of sin and corruption be crumbled today and let Christ become the foundation of our nation. Let the gates of righteousness be opened all over our nation and fill our land with men, women youths and children that are faithful and committed to You (Proverbs 14:34, Isaiah 26:2).
Father, Your Word says blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. We enthrone You Lord Jesus as Lord in our hearts, Lord in our lives, Lord in every state and community. Father, give us family leaders, church leaders, political leaders, leaders in the market place, leaders in the public sector and private sector that will yield themselves to the Lordship and control of God, so our nation can be truly blessed (Psalm 33:12).
Arise o Lord and put Your fear all over our nation. O Lord, show all those in our nation that think because they have political power, power of the occult, clout, wealth and influence that this nation and her resources belongs solely to them that they are but men. Show them O Lord that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He chooses (Psalm 9:19-20, Daniel 4:25).
In the name of Jesus, we release the peace of God all over our nation. Let there be peace within our walls, peace within every state, community and local government. Let there be peace within the different tribes. Let the stronghold of tribalism be broken. Let there be peace in our cities and on our streets that people can move around and travel without fear of kidnappers, armed robbers, terrorists and blood sucking demons. Let the peace of God rule and reign in our nation all through the election period. Let no innocent blood be used to sponsor and service selfish political agendas. We speak peace and prosperity to our economy. Prince of Peace, give us peace from every storm of insecurity, recession unemployment and hunger raging in our land. O Lord, give us peace with neighbouring countries and other nations and shield us from outside attacks (Psalm 122:6-8).
O Lord, we declare Your peace into citizens and families in this nation. Give them peace from every storm, trouble and affliction. Give Your peace to every troubled, afflicted, weary and depressed mind. We come against suicide increase in our land. We ask for divine healing and intervention for people who are emotionally disturbed and confused. Let there be a divine touch and miraculous healing for those suffering from psychological/mental breakdown (John 14:27).
Lord, do a new thing in our nation. Turn around the captivity of our nation and do that which will be like a dream in our political sector, economy, judiciary, educational and health sector. Lord, do a new thing that will encourage those that have lost hope in the nation and our leaders. Lord, do a new thing that will bring joy and rejoicing all over this nation (Psalm 126, Isaiah 43:18-19).
Father, rescue those that are perishing in our nation. Rescue them from the dominion of darkness and captivity to hell and bring them into the Kingdom of the Son You love in whom there is redemption the forgiveness of sin. Lord, when You come to judge the peoples and the nations, let a great multitude made of people from every tribe in our nation be amongst those who will stand before Your throne and before the Lamb, to reign with You in glory, in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen! (Colossians 1:13-14, Revelation 7:9).
