ANOTHER CHANCE

‘And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.’ (Jeremiah 18:4)

When items in our homes or offices get spoilt, damaged, broken or rotten, what do we usually do with these items? We throw them away, put them aside, dump or abandon them somewhere in our store or backyard. As far as we are concerned, they are no longer useful to us.

But what does God do when we get marred; when there are flaws and blemishes in our lives, when rather than behave the way God desires and expects us to, we act like spoilt, rotten tomatoes? What does God do with us when we are spiritually, emotionally and physically marred; wrecked, damaged, broken and spoilt? God gives us ANOTHER CHANCE (Jeremiah 18:1-6).

God doesn’t discard us, throw us into the refuse bin or dump us somewhere with the rest of the filth and scum of the earth. God takes us in His hands, the hands of the Divine Potter, and like a potter, He works on us until all those flaws are removed, until the messed up and cracked areas of our hearts and lives are mended. God works on us until we turn out to be the people He originally planned, intended and created us to be.

If you have been marred in anyway, don’t give up. Don’t be frustrated with yourself and with life. God is giving you ANOTHER CHANCE. All you need to do is place your life in God’s hands, allow Him work on you, and you will be amazed at how the Divine Potter will mould you into a MASTERPIECE!

PRAYER

Lord, I place my life in Your hands. I know I am far from perfect, I know I have made many mistakes in life, I also know no life, no situation can be too damaged for you to correct. Lord, correct with Your hands everything that needs to be corrected in my life. Work on me until I come out the way You originally planned, until I become the person You created me to be.
